Viscardo Apartments

A small territory rich in sport rich in nature rich in history

Who we are

Our story

The Umbrian countryside surrounding Castel Viscardo is a mosaic of gentle hills, cultivated fields, vineyards and woodlands, typical of the most authentic Umbria. Over the centuries, the Paglia River, with its winding course, has shaped the valley below, contributing to the fertility of the land and the agricultural richness of the area. This natural environment offers ideal settings for walks, nature trails and slow tourism, focused on the quality of the landscape and the history of the places.

Visiting Castel Viscardo means discovering a lesser-known yet deeply representative side of Umbria, where nature, artisan tradition and historical memory coexist in balance, offering visitors an authentic and understated experience, far from the most crowded tourist routes.

Accommodations

Our apartments

Within this setting are the four apartments Appia, Cassia, Flaminia and Aurelia, whose names recall the ancient Roman consular roads once traveled for centuries by pilgrims and wayfarers on their journey toward Rome. A symbolic reference to slow and mindful travel, experienced step by step, immersed in the natural landscape and the silence of the Umbrian countryside.

This project of slow and responsible tourism is promoted by the Di Montevecchio Benedetti family, the historic owners of the Castle of Castel Viscardo, a central and defining landmark of the village. The castle is not only an architectural reference, but also represents the historical and symbolic heart of the community, around which the village has developed over the centuries.

Through this project, the Di Montevecchio Benedetti family is committed to enhancing the value of the castle and the surrounding territory, with the aim of sharing the authentic soul of this Umbrian village. Hospitality thus becomes a way to rediscover local traditions, the landscape and community life, inviting guests to feel part of the place rather than mere visitors.

Staying in the Appia, Cassia, Flaminia and Aurelia apartments therefore means experiencing Castel Viscardo in an authentic way, following the rhythm of the land, rediscovering the history of the ancient roads, the value of tradition, and the pleasure of a respectful, rooted and human-centered form of tourism.

Location

How to get there

The apartments are located in Castel Viscardo, a destination that is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. Traveling by car is the most convenient option, especially for those who wish to explore the surrounding area independently: from Orvieto the journey is short and direct, while from Rome and Florence it is possible to take the A1 motorway, exit at Orvieto, and then continue toward Castel Viscardo.

For those traveling by train, the reference station is Orvieto Scalo, which is well connected to major cities. From there, guests can continue by bus, taking into account the limited frequency of services, or opt for a taxi, which offers a faster and more direct transfer to the destination.
